The CTB-Expert certification issued by FCBA is the assurance of a serious expertise to: control risks, repair damages, search for responsibilities, resolve conflicts and secure transactions (except for the condition of the building relative to the presence of termites, decree n°2006-1114 of 05-09-2006) in the fields of private expertise, insurance expertise and legal expertise.

CTB-E+ is a collective mark of certification of persons, in accordance with the NF X50-110 standard and technical reference frames, delivered by the FCBA technological institute.
This mark attests to the skills of people in terms of expertise, diagnosis, recommendations and prescriptions in the field of wood preservation.

The benefits of certification

Certification allows the certified expert to be part of a proactive progress approach, at the heart of a network of professionals who share the same values.
The certification brings to the expert :

  • the recognition by a third party organization of the knowledge and skills of the person in terms of wood pathologies ;
  • the validation of his capacity to carry out expertise in wood pathologies wood pathologies in accordance with the NF X5-110 standard.

The CTB-E+ certification covers, depending on the case

  • situation analysis and diagnosis ;

A regulatory and technological watch is made available to certified experts, allowing them to anticipate changes.

The certification is framed by two frames of reference setting out all the technical requirements and operating rules of a certification mark.
The CTB-E+ certification issued by FCBA is the assurance of a serious expertise to :

  • secure transactions (except for the building condition relating to the presence of termites, decree nº 2006-1114 of 05-09-2006)
  • in the fields of private expertise, insurance expertise and legal expertise.

FCBA, as an independent certification body, carries out regular audits of certified experts. These technical audits attest to the business ethics of the persons and guarantee the proper respect of internal procedures and reference systems.
The expert undertakes to respect the requirements of the mark and to maintain a level of knowledge and expertise in wood pathologies.

 

Certified and controlled characteristics

FCBA evaluates the experts on :

  • Competence of the expert;
  • Quality of the expertise methodology ;
  • Quality of the expert report (content);
  • Respect of technical reference systems.

These characteristics exclude the result of the expertise, which is the responsibility of the person who has accepted the mission, and for which he has taken out insurance in relation to the responsibilities incurred.

To be a candidate for this certification, the candidate, natural person, or employee of a legal entity must provide proof of knowledge acquired in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of the building and the wood material;
  • Knowledge of pests related to wood and its environment;
  • Treatment methods and the main families of preservatives, based on the recognized rules of good practice.

Then, the expert is certified for a cycle of 5 years and followed by :

  • the annual declaration of the missions carried out and the control of three files;
  • a technical audit during the third year of certification;
  • a visit to the jury for the renewal of the certification.
