NF Biocombustibles solides – Granulés

Wood pellets are compressed, all-natural sawdust cylinders (no chemical binders added). Pellets can be made from softwood or hardwood sawdust with an average diameter of 6 mm and a length of between 3.15 and 40 mm. Wood pellets may only be used in pellet stoves or boilers.

Agro pellets are cylinders of finely ground plant material (straw, miscanthus, seeds, olive residues, etc.) Agro pellets must be used exclusively in agro pellet stoves or boilers.

The NF Biocombustibles solides – granulés mark provides the consumer with a guarantee of information. The NF Granules label, attached to the products sold or delivered by certified companies, provides consumers with all the essential information to assess the corresponding quality. You can choose between 5 categories of products according to your equipment:

The NF certified pellets bring you a guarantee on :

the absence of chemical treatment of the raw material
-the dimensions
-the lower calorific value (LCV)
-the humidity
-the rate of fines
-ash content
-mechanical durability
-bulk density
sulphur, chlorine and nitrogen content
the presence or absence of natural binder (such as corn starch)
You can find the threshold values to be respected on our reference system.
The bulk pellet distributor must also be NF certified in order to guarantee the quality of the product right up to your silo.
It must :

  • control the rate of fines at each stage of packaging or storage
  • respect a minimum length of pipe during delivery
    suck up the fines on unloading
  • control and adapt the blowing pressure
  • train his staff
  • Separate NF pellets from non-certified ones
  • indicate the quantity delivered
