Beds and Mattresses - Test Methods for Determining Functional Characteristics and Evaluation Criteria
The purpose of this test is to study how a mattress behaves after being subjected to short but prolonged compressive loads. It simulates the act of lying down, getting up, and sitting down on a mattress multiple times.

During this test, the technician measures the loss of thickness and hardness after 30,000 cycles of 1,400 N applied to the center of the mattress using a roller. The technician also measures the loss of height at one edge of the mattress after 5,000 cycles of 1,000 N applied locally using a pad.
