Determination of curative efficacy against Anobium punctatum (common furniture beetle) larvae

Determination of curative efficacy against Anobium punctatum (common furniture beetle) larvae
Standard NF EN 48 describes a method for determining the curative action of a wood preservative against Anobium punctatum larvae. The purpose of this test is to determine the lethality of a preservative against Anobium punctatum. - (Laboratory method)

As part of the marketing authorisation process for European biocidal products, this test is referenced in standard EN 599-1 and is one of the required tests.

For the NF EN 48 test, Anobium punctatum larvae are placed in susceptible wood species. The samples are then treated by applying the test product to their surface. After between 8 and 16 weeks of testing, the survival rate of the larvae is calculated in order to evaluate the performance of the product.
