Feedback from the technical workshop on fire safety

Feedback from the technical workshop on fire safety
Date Le 08.06.2022
This webinar will focus on the feedback from the technical workshop on fire safety at the Woodrise 2021 conference held in Japan from 15 to 17 October.

This webinar will focus on the restitution of the technical workshop “Fire protection“.

This workshop allowed experts from different countries to present recent experimental results and normative developments, in particular tests on the fire behaviour of CLT according to the structural glues used (US, Estonia, Canada, Sweden), and to discuss the progress of standardisation work on CLT. The regulatory context for wood construction was also discussed (France, Japan, Canada). The experimental programmes presented cover all scales, from laboratory, local, façade, to fire tests in Japan on complete buildings! In parallel to the experimental approaches, numerical approaches are also used, for example in the case of façade fire modelling (France). The various presentations, which were rich in detail, were also based on several completed or future projects for high-rise timber buildings.

On the program:

  • CLT: summary of fire tests and normative work;
  • Regulatory context in different countries (France, Japan, Canada);
  • Fire safety of wooden buildings:
    focus on tests and fire modelling of facades;
    focus on new construction systems and large-scale tests;
  • Questions and answers
