METIS project seminar: upstream forestry practices

On 30/06/2021 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm in Lyon, and simultaneously by videoconference, the partners of the METIS project (Mobilising on a Territorial Scale through Innovation and Synergy) will organise its closing event.

METIS is a public-private cooperation project in the upstream forestry sector that works towards new shared management practices through the acquisition of common and contextualised knowledge in relation to the effects of climate change and the overcoming of the notion of ownership in favour of territorialised management.

Introduction and presentation of the METIS closing seminar

  • the national call for projects “Innovation and investments for upstream forestry”: the objectives of the State
  • Objectives and regional context for the METIS cooperation
  • Presentation of the project and objectives

 Anticipation of climate change

  • Problems and challenges of climate change – testimony from a territory
  • Tools to help take climate change into account in silvicultural choices (Clim’Essence BiomClimSol); Valuation of large wood; Existing approaches and mutualisation process implemented within the framework of the METIS project 

 Mobilising better and more

  • Mobilisation issues: Territorial context of a territory
  • METIS tools and experiments to mobilise better and more (collaborative platform and public-private forest mobilisation documents, territorial mobilisation/exploitation project (Pect’ine) 

Innovation to meet the challenges of tomorrow

  • Innovation in wood harvesting and transport practices seen by a territory
  • Innovations developed with METIS in the upstream part of the forestry and wood industry in AURA (on-board computer, Track-marais, T-winch, Drones, Flying Whales)
