Inventory of forest harvesting machines in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region

The mobilisation of forest resources in Burgundy-Franche-Comté nowadays relies heavily on mechanisation. In order to gain a better understanding of the companies and their associated machinery, the Regional Council of Burgundy-Franche-Comté commissioned FCBA to conduct a survey of companies involved in wood mobilisation and their forestry equipment.
It will update those carried out in 2014 in Burgundy and in 2007 in Franche-Comté.
The study, which will concern harvesting equipment in operation in 2022, will therefore make it possible to
- Identify all the players in Burgundy-Franche-Comté and their equipment used for forest harvesting (logging machines, wood energy harvesters, forwarders, skidders, agricultural tractors equipped for forestry),
- Acquire technical data on machinery (age, size, productivity, etc.) and their level of equipment,
- Adapt public policies on aid for the purchase and/or renewal of forestry equipment,
- To carry out the first observatory of forest harvesting mechanisation in the new Burgundy-Franche-Comté region,
