LumiVec, the glazed wood window concept

Highlights of 2022:

• 20 July at FCBA Bordeaux: meeting of the lumiVEC collective design group with the participation of the carpenters of the collective, about ten people. On the agenda was the presentation of the results of the evaluations / follow-up in the second half of the year as well as the presentation of the tested prototypes.

• The lumiVec collective design group, consisting of Joint Dual and the other 8 manufacturers, will meet monthly during the first half of 2022, to carry out the prototyping and evaluation programme for the concept.

• 1 January 2021: SNJF brand standards are put online, allowing the extension of VEC sealant certification to wood for window use – see appendix E4 of the document

• July 2: 2nd Technical Day “LumiVec Le Club” at the SFJF in Paris by visio skype.
• 26-28 February: LumiVec present at the Innovation Village of the AQUIBAT exhibition in Bordeaux.
• 20 February: Visit of the bonding workshop at RIOU GLASS – VERAQUI in Marmande.

Highlights of 2019:

• 19 November: 1st technical day “LumiVec Le Club” at FCBA Bordeaux
   The members of the Club were gathered to follow the following roadmap:
  
  • Transfer of technical knowledge from the various expert partners SFJF, CEBTP, FCBA and sealant manufacturers (DOW, SIKA and TREMCO),
  • Implementation of the quality system around 3 “floors”: certification of the gluing compound on wood, the “gluing permit” of the gluing workshop and the homologation of the window,
  • Market intelligence on similar products,
  • Presentation of the 1st OF2 prototype of LumiVec made by Ets Nieto (33),
  • Organisation of technology transfer over 2020 -2021 either via a “collective design” or an “individual design”.
• 7 February: following the call for expressions of interest (AMI) launched at national level in the second half of 2018, around thirty manufacturers of wood and mixed wood and aluminium windows (VSEs, SMEs and industrialists) took part in the information day at FCBA Bordeaux where it was decided to create “LumiVec le Club”.

This glazing technology (VEC-Vitrage Extérieur Collé, VPC Vitrage Parclosé Collé) has major technical advantages: maximum glazing clarity, modern design, hidden sash, slim frame and optimal thermo-optical performance.
