NF-Office Excellence Certified:
The certification dedicated to office furniture celebrates its 10th anniversary
Combining the technical and environmental quality of office furniture and the societal commitment of manufacturers, NF-Office Excellence Certifiée (NF-OEC) is today the only French certification dedicated to this market segment.
For the past 10 years, it has guaranteed users a safe, long-lasting product that has been inspected by a neutral and independent third-party organisation, the FCBA Technology Institute.
On the occasion of this 10th anniversary, FCBA looks back at the evolution of this certification and that of office furniture.
The Carpentry Combes, a manufacturer of made-to-measure windows in Aveyron, has been awarded the NF Fenêtres Bois et Portes Extérieures certification, issued by FCBA
FCBA has just awarded the right to use the NF Fenêtres Bois et Portes Extérieures mark to the company “Les Menuiseries Combes”, after having qualified its Natura and Nova ranges of wooden windows and audited their production site. The Technological Institute thus recognizes the know-how of the family business from Millau, created in 1871, which today employs about one hundred people.
NF Fenêtres Bois et Portes Extérieures, a quality mark issued and controlled by a third-party organization (FCBA), will above all allow the end consumer to be sure that Menuiseries Combes’ wooden windows, manufactured exclusively in France, are durable and efficient.
With this new certified manufacturer, the NF Wooden Windows and Exterior Doors certification has a total of 17 professional holders.

Construction, Research, Furniture, Processing:
How certification drives, supports and promotes innovation around wood materials
As we know, certifications aim first and foremost to fulfill a fundamental mission: to attest, by a third party, the performance and quality of a product, a service, and/or the skills of a professional. In this respect, they constitute a key benchmark for a sector and/or consumers.
The certifications issued by FCBA (CTB certifications, NF Fenêtres Bois et Portes Extérieures, NF Ameublement, etc.) meet this challenge. But beyond this role of quality guarantor, they are also a lever for innovation, at the service of wood construction and furnishing.
From the development of new types of R&D tests, in the field of kitchens or windows, in the laboratory phase or directly on the manufacturing sites; to the deployment, on the market, with professionals, of an innovative wood treatment against wood-eating insects; to the support provided to an industrialist to carry out its innovation and quality strategy in the field of CLT… Focus on 4 examples of collaborations illustrating the close links between certification and innovation.
FCBA and Evertree partner to revolutionize wood panels with new bio-based adhesive systems
Supported by ADEME, the project initiated in 2019 was successful with a world first: Green Ultimate, a biobased alternative to fossil-based adhesive resins.
