Roland Prin explains to us the WeWood approach of the companies of the famous construction group and the contribution of FCBA in this area, in particular via its Connect’Expert service.
Wood in construction has entered a new dimension. The proof is in the WeWood initiative of Bouygues Bâtiment France Europe, whose ambition is to build 30% of its operations in wood by 2030. This company policy is part of the group’s “building differently” approach. Rather than resorting to external growth to acquire expertise in wood construction, the company has chosen to develop its internal skills. To this end, at the end of 2020, it created an expert unit responsible for infusing this culture throughout the group and spreading good professional practices. This unit, which brings together 30 technical experts, also carries out technical studies and engineering assignments. To do this, it relies on several pillars, including knowledge sharing, employee training and the creation of a “club” of companies that includes suppliers, subcontractors and partners

Technical training courses provided by the wood technology institute have been grouped together in a customised “wood construction training course” for Bouygues Bâtiment France Europe teams. FCBA is also involved in technical studies and laboratory tests, notably carrying out studies for the two Atex facades submitted by Bouygues Bâtiment France Europe for the Paris Olympic Games.
We also use the FCBA Connect'Expert service. This service allows us to ask FCBA experts questions on very technical subjects or to discuss tests. This flexible and reactive formula allows us to obtain an answer or relevant information. These are all elements that should strengthen this partnership relationship.
