Since 2014, the Catalogue Bois Construction, technically developed by FCBA and financed by France Bois Forêt and CODIFAB, has been a technical tool for architects, project managers, technical departments of contracting authorities, inspection offices, experts, company design offices and manufacturers. The site has now been modernised to simplify navigation and access to all content.
The Bois Construction Catalogue website includes a Solutions Area and a Reference Area (BoisREF) with free access (content can be downloaded free of charge).
- The Solutions Area comprises 3 items: Structures/Envelopes, Claddings and Joinery.
This area provides access to a wealth of technical resources on “standard solutions”, including hundreds of technical visuals (plans, cross-sections and design details), a performance database (fire, thermal and acoustic performance, for example), and assistance in drafting specifications (Cahier des Clauses Techniques Particulières). This tool is constantly evolving, with additional modules added every year and/or new solutions added to existing modules.
Each part of the structure is associated with a solutions configurator (a design aid tool that avoids searching directly in the tree structure) based on the essential performance criteria corresponding to the part of the structure in question. - The Reference System Area: BoisREF is a tool designed to make it easier to access and assimilate all the reference systems and technical achievements of the timber industry.
Each BoisREF sheet is associated with a part of the structure (timber-framed walls, vertical post-and-beam structures and portals, horizontal structures and floors, frameworks, cladding, windows, etc.) and brings together all the associated standards in standard and non-standard techniques.
