The Habitat Connect program is based on the scientific approach of co-design through use developed by the Innovation team of the FCBA Furniture Division in order to offer all the public products that meet real needs capable of improving living comfort in the home. This collaborative method, which includes users, comprises 5 stages. The process took place over two years, from 2015 to 2017.
A community of users was created and observed in order to identify their expectations, resulting, after data collection, in 226 usage situations. The analysis of this data allowed 62 product concepts to be identified and voted on. After CEA Tech’s expertise (for the study of technical constraints), 23 projects were preselected and then presented to IoT (Internet of Things) experts. Finally, 9 innovative products were mocked up and prototyped before the testing, experimentation and improvement phases.
The connected products of the Habitat Connect programme will be marketed to their professional and/or consumer customers according to the timetable of each industrial partner.
