France Douglas and FCBA are organising visits to Douglas seed orchards in the Lot department on 28 July. On the programme: history of the establishment of Douglas-fir seed orchards and presentation of their characteristics, guided tour of orchards of different varieties, progress report on the Douglas-fir genetic improvement programme Avenir.
Christian BLAZY, Mathieu LE FLOC’H and Franck MERCIER, managers of the seed orchards, will welcome you.

- 9:30 am California orchard during its harvest
Place called Haute Serre, 46150 Catus - 12pm: Lunch in Assier
- 14h : Visit of the Darrington orchard, then of 3 new orchards resulting from selections from the south and north of the area of origin (“coeur de l’aire”,
“south of the area” and “elite”).
During the visits, a progress report on the Douglas Avenir genetic improvement programme will be given by Marin Chaumet, research engineer at FCBA.
