Sustainability Webinar: Wood for all your needs – 2 February

Sustainability Webinar: Wood for all your needs – 2 February
Date Le 09.06.2022
Wood is a natural material whose characteristics allow for a variety of uses and aesthetic choices. However, its use, especially outdoors, requires certain technical knowledge to ensure that it will last.

Wood can be used treated or untreated, depending on its natural durability and its exposure to climatic hazards. Moreover, treated wood must meet normative and regulatory constraints, so that its impact on health and the environment is controlled.

Participating in this webinar will allow you to (re)discover the principles that guarantee the durability of wood over time, but also to place the wood material in a societal context favourable to bio-based materials.

On the agenda:

  • Controlling the durability of wood: designing, choosing and maintaining wood-based materials
  • Wood and its environment, when and how are the impacts controlled?
    • With a view to being placed on the European market, evaluation and regulatory authorisation of biocidal products: efficacy, toxicity/ecotoxicity, suitability for food contact (for specific uses such as picnic tables)
    • During the working life: maintenance, renovation, reprocessing, replacement
    • At the end of life: recycling, reuse, sorting of wood waste, revalorisation in dedicated channels

February from 11:00 to 12:00
