Webinar: “Tomorrow, plastic-free packaging in furniture” – 22 November
25.102022
On 22 November, we are offering you the webinar "Tomorrow, plastic-free packaging in furniture"? It presents the work carried out on the formalisation of issues within the framework of the Eco-design of packaging in the furniture sector.

22 November 2pm - 3pm

The furniture sector is subject to regulatory obligations:

  • The Anti-Waste for a Circular Economy law (known as AGEC), one of whose objectives is to end the marketing of all single-use plastic packaging by 2040
  • The Climate and Resilience Act, which aims to ban packaging made up in whole or in part of non-recyclable styrenic polymers and unable to be recycled from 1 January 2025

Consequently, furniture marketers are directly concerned by the objective of reducing the use of plastic packaging. They need to think about and move towards more eco-designed packaging solutions and approaches.

The Eco-design of furniture packaging project, led by FCBA with the support of CODIFAB and CITEO, is part of a regulatory perspective. It is intended to be collaborative in order to facilitate the dissemination of knowledge and good practices by focusing on the reduction or even elimination of two types of plastic packaging: expanded polystyrene and heat-shrinkable films.
